Ok, what do people think. Should she do the time?

Personally, I think she should get longer. It doesn't matter about a person's social standing or wealth, if you commit a crime, you should do the time. Drink driving is a very serious offence and should be punished accordingly.Plus, after seeing a statement on her petition for appeal that claims she 'brings excitement and beauty to our otherwise mundane lives' I am lobbying for the electric chair.

She should be happy, at least in prision she could make another 'video'

I wonder whether the DUI thing wasn't just another P.R stunt ? Some people would do anything to get their faces on TV.

To be honest, if a normal person was to drink drive, they most likely wouldnt actually get to prison... so for that reason I think they're just making an example of her. I agree she should go through, because otherwise young idiots will think its ok to go and do the same and "be cool".

That is true sir, but don't forget, she was already banned from driving and the silly tart got behind the wheel again. So if they don't listen the first time, then a custodial penalty is the next step

And you're right, the sad fact is there will be muppets who think what she did was 'way cool'.

Well she's got her new airbags up front so I guess she felt safe :D

Seriously thou, if she was already banned, she deserves to actually spend the time in prison. Problem is, as Headache, she'll get alot of PR out of it, and earn loads from magazines ect... sad world we'r in really!

I totally agree. I cannot stand her, and any other pleb who is in the media spotlight for literally possessing zero talent and being lucky enough to be in someone else's gene pool. I know that obviously the crux of the situation is the media spotlight, but nine times out fo ten these arseholes really do themselves no favours. It's shite like Heat magazine and all the other similar toss-rags that fuel this culture

It is a depressing world where some dopey gumball like - for example - Jade Goody can be a millionaire simply for being thick as pigshit and looking like she got whacked in the face with a bag of spanners, whereas the majority of us will have to slog our guts out for the rest of our lives for a fraction of that. Shame

'Paris in Prison' sounds like a promising video to me.

Or more likely 'Prison in Paris'.

People annoy me when they feel that being famous means they don't have to obey the same rules as the rest of us.

    He he

Betcha they got a camera crew with her in jail right now.

And if ever such a video gets to see the light of day, trust me there's lots of people who will be rushing back home from work just to watch it. Not me though. Not unless I hear that one of the episodes is going to show her getting properly beat up by one of the screws or a fellow inmate.

When I read the title I thought: "What do you mean, The whole city?" Then I realized you where referring to miss P. Hilton.
We have a same kind of character here in the Netherlands. She's a singer and a soap actor.
I believe that she should be punished hard for the act. But not prison. Let her work for 160 hours in a hospital for disabled or injured people due to a drunk and drive accident or something like that. She needs to realize what could be the result of her stupid behaviour.

I think she ought to be treated like any other citizen. She did the crime...she pays the time. No favoritism.

Amen, plus it would wipe that bloody smirk off her face

One thing that really is making me laugh about this though, she has to appeal to 'Governor' Anrnold Schwarzenegger to overturn the sentence. Can that get any more surreal

If she had been a young black or hispanic male, driving around south central on a suspended license, she would have gone straight to jail that evening. Maybe after catching a bit of a beating too.

She's already gotten off easy because of her wealth. And for $85/day she'll get accomodations at a country club prison like the one Martha went to. This is just a show to make the stupid plebians believe they're treated equally in America. It's PR not justice.

She not going to jail because of the dui. She is going because she broke her probation which resulted from the dui. Seems she did not know she wasn't allowed to drive afterwards and got caught, and she told the judge that she was to busy to talk with her lawyers about her probation. And it isn't her fault at all because she dose not read her mail. And those that do did not inform her of this. If she actually is that stupid let her do the time and learn some of the basic laws in her own country.

...and if that was the reason, and a normal person had said you you mentioned Mitz, then the reply would be

    "ignorance is not an excuse"

It depends on the US penal code, which I have no knowledge about.

In the UK, it is hit and miss. Just pick up your local paper and read the Court proceedings for the day. Every day people with repeat offenses of drink driving, driving without insurance, driving with no license... and all they get is a fine.

I personally know someone who was barred from drink driving. Fair enough, she stayed out her ban, but 1 week after she was caught again. Just another ban, no other penalty. Quite, quite rubbish.

Not only should she go to jail, she should be battered half to death every day. Her and her daft, privileged, inbred friends.

Anyone who walks round wearing a t-shirt that says "I'm Paris Hilton.. and you're not" needs a cold, hard slap with the reality stick
