    Actualy - the artcle is slightly misleading. It *is* a step forward - but IPv6 has been around for ages. I remember being in a internet cafe in Brussels 4 years ago that was using IPv6.

    Now that the root servers have IPv6 addresses things may pick up a bit.

    I'd have to agree with Harry. I don't see any sweeping changes in anyone's exams relative to IPv6 for awhile yet.

    I've been on IPv6 for about 4 years now, was even connected via tunnels to the UK6X (Experimental IPv6 Internet Exchange)

    The root servers are a big step that's for sure, but IPv6 is in use in parts of the far east already, some of those places have less IP addresses allocated to them than American universities.. so it was a matter of necessity for them

    I remember seeing that some dentist in New York has a class A ip4 network, maybe he/she should sell :)
