What is the difference between the OS files and the system files. I still havent got this straight. I am getting ready for the 2003 A+ Operating Systems exam and need some help.

Thank again to everyone on this board for their help.

Ah! I remember this from the A+ OS study days.

MS seem to have worded this *arse about face* for the want of a better phrase! :)

Most people would assume the boot partition contains the boot files and the System partition contains the files for just that - the Operating System. As far as MS (and therefore the A+ exam) is concerned it is the other way around!

If I find a link explaining it without slurring (:morebeer), I will post back.

I seem to remember something in MM about this - I'll check when I get home. But I agree that it is non-obvious.

Rereading the question, and checking the objectives I am not sure exactly what you are asking here. Depending on the context that you saw these terms I would say that there is no difference.

I originaly said otherwise as I was, like Boyce, thinking of Boot and System partitions, which isn't the same thing at all.
