Opening local office documents takes ages

The issue like this but is caused when opening image files is due to a shortcut to an application / file in the same location that isn't actually at the end of the shortcut... Explorer bug. Perhaps it's the same for this?

Cheers for the help all I'm going to do a bit more investigating and see what I come up with. I think it might be an issue with Office itself as it happens on all office documents.
