Just the 2TB free version, shouldn't need to much space as its only really to aid my vSphere training, as for the card yes its just the normal SATA cable it uses :( might just get a tower to store the HDDs and get some SATA to eSATA plates

Have a look at the Hiper Anubis Case and get three Lian-Li EX-34B hdd bays.

It's a great case and all three bays fit inside the case (it's what my SAN box is made up of).

I revisited Openfiler today to rule out the raid setup

    OF 2.3

    Dual Intel NICs(Primary/failover setup)
    ML110 Xeon Model
    3ware 9550SXU
    8 x HP Enterprise Storage SATA Disks(483096-001) (Testing RAID5 and RAID10)
    2GB Ram

1 Large LUN, BlockIO, no chaps, ACL set

IET Binded to 1 IP(as per forum suggestion)
Updated Intel NIC driver(as per forum suggestion)
OF Fully Updated(as per forum suggestion)

    2 ESXi Host
    Delayed Ack disabled
    Ammeded HBTokenTimeout(as per forum suggestion)
    0 Virtual Machines Created

In the ESXi event logs there are loads of Datastore connection lost/connection restored events, last thing I'm trying before calling it a day is to replace IET with SCST but I'm struggling to get it to discover the LUNS, hay hoo.

Looks to be sorted now(fingers crossed been 48hrs so far), seems to be related to what I was doing with the NICs, gave them both IPs and configured ESXi with both of them in round robin and its running sweet as a nut
