hi everybody i am planning on setting up my own home labs for A+,N+ and maybe CCNA in the future, just wondering what sort of machines would you consider buying to open up(hardware side)and install various kinds of O/S's on to learn their functionalities

PIIs PIII, or maybe early P4s?

It always helps to have seen as many different systems possible.
So how many machines were you thinking of getting? :biggrin

PIIs are being given away in some places - and PIIIs are about the £20 - £40 mark. You might want to grab an AMD box somewhere in that set.

If you use a KVM switch it shouldn't take *that* much room.

    Harry.

    Big O,

Just wondering why you keep posting new threads in the intros forum? There are other suitable areas to post this in. :)

What about AMD? They are usually cheaper than Pen's

Also have you tried Ebuyer ?

They always have Blow out deals on used bare bones or parts!

My response to UCM, is via PM, as not to take this thread off topic.

Don't know about anywhere else, but we have a "freecycle" website in our area where people give away old crap rather than throw it out. There's always computers being given away on ours (saw a 486 on offer the other day). Maybe you could have a look for one in your area.
