Is it much differant to previous versions of office? A friend of mine reckons its not much better then 97 and hardly anything has changed.

Well I haven't used Office 97 but I have used 2000, XP and 2003. All I can say is that the most 'improvements' are in the eye candy (with these 3 versions). But I would say Office 97 and 2003 are worlds apart. It is also true that 2003 includes a lot of features that no one really uses.
