    Hey there,

    I currently have x2 Cisco 1924 switches.

I'm currently studying for my CCNA and after that I would like to also study for CCNP.

For the CCNP switching module (642-812 BCMSN) how many Cisco switches would one require in order to be able to study for CCNP and switching module at home?

    Thanks

    Hiya two50m.

Well, I am studying for the 642-812 at the moment and the one thing I can tell you is that a pair of 1924 switches are about as useful as a pair of slippers.

I'm using three catalyst 3550s at the moment and even those don't quite make the grade. At the very least, I need a couple of 3750s, or at least one 3560 and a 3750 on top of my existing lab. Unfortunately, I don't have the cash right now.

But you know what I would truly truly give anything to get my hands on ? A WS-X4516-10GE with a supervisor V engine.

Or better still, a 6500 series switch with a 32 or 720 supervisor engine.

Unfortunately, you practically need to win the lottery to be able to afford one of them things.
