Hey everybody!

I was hoping to get some advice on good (legal) practice tests for Nortel exams (specifically 920-803). My company here in DC makes extensive use of Nortel VoIP, Callpilot, and Symposium. The test covers VoIP specifically and I have been totally unsuccessful in finding any non-braindump exam prep materials other than the Nortel Press book I already purchased. Does anyone know where I can find a place that sells legitimate Nortel preparation material?

Unfortunately, there's not much demand for Nortel certification training products, so to my knowledge, there are no legit practice exams out there for them.

 

That's what I was afraid of.

First, Thanks for keeping the conversation focused on legal resources. ;)

You mentioned that you had purchased the Nortel Press VoIP book. It should have included a CD with a practice exam, did it? The practice exam is a good resource. As is the test prep section at the end of the book. Also, you mentioned that you were planning to take the 803, not the 804. The book covers both. Keep in mind that the 803 only test through chapter 6. Chapters 7-9 are tested in the 804.

Using these resources, you should feel confident challenging the exam. Good Luck!

As you may have already seen, the admins and members of CertForums do not endorse or allow braindumping of any sort... we're all about getting our certifications the RIGHT way. After all, what good is a certification if you had to resort to cheating to get it?

Just wanted to say thanks for the information! That also is really good to know that the test only covers Ch. 1 - 6 (little less material to worry about!). I was aware that there was a practice test on the CD (which will be used, trust me) but I just wanted a little more material before I dropped $149 to take the test. It doesn't seem to be too bad so far, so we'll see how it goes.

(As a sidenote, as a former academic tutor, I can't stand cheating -- including the braindumping variety)

 

So, I took the test on Saturday and I am pleased to report that I passed and am now a Nortel Certified Technology Specialist.

The book was very useful and very well-written; the practice test on the CD was a good indicator of the difficulty of the exam as well. My only complaint would be that some of the answers on the test were wrong (letter choice contradicted was you could actually choose from, typos, etc.). All in all, I'm happy that it's done!
