Our AV contract is up for renewal at the and of the month. We currently use Sophos and the new version released the end of last month has seriously slowed the pc's down.

I have been in touch with eset and got a 30 day trial of NOD32 enterprise edition. It has a lot of possibilities and options. Has anyone used this version and comments.

It is a little more expensive than Sophos but that really isn't too much of an issue. We have also got a quote from AVG and that really is cheap as chips.

I use NOD32 on almost all the networks I support. No problems so far and also it doesnt eat system resources. 8)

Are you installing on an Exchange server? If so you may need to exlude log files on the standard AV components (not the Exchange plugin). If you dont then your Exchange databases can dismount at random times of the day :ohmy

Not on our exchange server as all of our mail is scanned and spam checked by a 3rd party.

Been using the RA and it seems OK, just a matter of getting used to the interface.

There are some nice features, you can roll out the app from the RA to the clients with a preconfigured config file. Also the software updates itself on the clients (not just virus definitions).

I should work for ESET.... :biggrin

We are running sophos version 8, and have not experienced any slow downs. Are you running the firewall with it?

    Nope just the AV.

We use roaming profiles and we think it's the AV scanning all the files when it's DL the profile

Just asked for the invoice. 800 clients, 2 year licence all for £4.7K.

It has certainly speeded up the login times, but then again so would mandatory profiles :dry

I'm in the middle of rolling this out with our company at the moment. It's already picked up viruses that Norton failed to identify.

I would say this is the best AV i have ever used and really like the remote administrator console.

Only thing I would say is that the setup manuals are not that comprehensive and we did have a few teething problems with the configuration editor. However, once we understood what it was doing and why, it has been a piece of cake to roll out to new clients. The only hard bit is getting rid of norton off the machines!!

Oh yeah, good value for money too 8)

Wouldn't it be nice if the other AV manufacturers made an uninstall feature in their remote console. Got to remove sophos from each client doh

I love NOD32. Gone through the McAfee and Norton fads and have found then either lacking or bloated in one way or another.

NOD32 is small, secure and very fast. I've even purposely visited sites that would try to install malware on my system and it caught every last one of them! Awesome stuff!

WOW too many NOD fans in this forum.talking in this forum about other av's sounds like walking in a mine field.
But here i go,ive never used any enterprise av yet but as far as i know the the false alarms of nod av is more than av's like KAV but sure its faster than all others.

As we have become a NOD reseller, we are selling more units then ever, also free AV for us is certainly a bonus and we haven't had any of the mentioned issues with Exchange dismounting.

Also bought a few retail boxed ones for the home user side, again very well priced.

I also use it on my own PCs and family members pc's and no complaints :)
