    This doesn't surprize me Trip, WinRAR has been around for years and is generally used by software crackers to compress and distribute illegal software on Warez sites etc. WinAce is another one that uses a different file extension .ace

    There are loads...

    ACE ZIP LHA MS-CAB RAR ARC ARJ GZip TAR ZOO JAR

    The anti-virus venders have their work cut out :eek:

    I presume the people that are getting infected have WinRAR installed on their system. If it's compression algorithms are 30% more efficient than WinZips I am not sure WinZip could open them.

    I know that WinRAR and WinAce can open WinZip archives, just not sure if it works the other way round.
