Hi All, First post on forum as I have only just found it. I am late forties and probably much too old to get a job in IT but have had an interest in computers for many years. I also spend part of my life in the UK and the rest in Spain which would also make having a proper job difficult.
Interested in learning more about PC's especially hardware side (Mech. Eng. by trade so nuts and bolts) and possibly gaining some basic qualifications A+ etc as I just need to learn something new before I get even older and would only repair computers for people who I know.

Hi all and thanks for the welcome. I think it all down to a preconceived idea we have regarding people who are into computers as being young and trendy. This certainly rules me out.

I have been on this planet a while too, I am definitely 'into computers' and have been for the last 20 years. All that matters is that you have a thirst for knowledge and an appetite for all things geek. 8)

Fear not: that preconceived idea is false, and isn't shared by those who are actually IN the industry. :)
