Hi ive been fiddling around with computers since i was a kid and decied at 30 to change my career to my hobby.

Working in a local firm as IT Support Engineer and supporting around 70 clients including NT4 WS and server, W98SE,W2k and XP.

Im also responsible for our network and server admin duties. Ive recently upgraded our server backbone to w2k servers and have introduced ADSL to the network domain.

Next stage is to enable web accessible mail from exchange2k and remote terminal services for me :D .

Keeps me busy but i love it :D

Before i came they were running W98 clients and nt4 clients with nt4 based servers and ms exchange 5.5 thru a 33.6 dial up connection to an 0845 number

It started as a summer job last year, running the dept when my manager was away on vacation for a month to Australia and im still there.

Eventually i want to get my certs and i am scheduled to take over my managers role at the end of the year when he retires.

Hi Mando - welcome to CertForums - good to have you aboard :thumbleft
(and another Scot, I notice - even better :P )

I'm sure you'll find this place useful, if only to escape the reality of the IT world for a bit. You'll find a rich bag of Folk in here

So, without further ado, I'll hand you over to some of them .......

That would depend on several factors.

    a) the map you were looking at
    b) the local authority boundries
    c) the Westminster boundries
    d) the telephone dialing codes
    e) the water company
    f) the electric company
