    Not 'lucky'.

'suspicious' is the word I think I'd use...

Agreed. I've passed about 55 exams, and scored perfect on ONE of them... and I teach this stuff for a living.

What training tools did you use, Gmielke?

It does depend on the questions you get (among other things :dry ), benefit of the doubt given. I've had exams where I just breezed thru, and then I've had exams where every questions was a total nightmare. Anyway congrats.

    Ummm....

    yes, you did.

VCE is a known braindump - not quite as widely known as TestK*** was, or Troy*** back in the day, but a braindump all the same.

So, basically, your 1000 pass mark came from memorising questions and answers that you 'studied' from.

COMING SOON TO A SERVER ROOM NEAR YOU...

Not exactly the guys fault here tho, id be blaming the training company here, especially when he didnt know what a braindump was.

I do agree that his certification is completely useless tho.:)

But if you study for other exams and dont use VCE again, plus get the actual work experience - difficult I know..then you are not lost to the dark side ....

Have to say its the training company's fault here.... they need sorting out! :x

If the guy in question here didnt know any different and uses different study aids (i.e no braindumps!) for future exams then i dont think we can be too harsh on him....

But......... if you continue to use braindumps i cant promise to hold back the these guys for long.....:blink So dont do it! Or face their wrath! :)

Agreed, the training company is at falt here, and if you had no idea Gmielke then I have sympathy for you.

Now your aware of what braindumps are, you can understand why we all detest them so much? They are devaluing the certs for the people who learn the material the right way, and its basically a kick in the face for us all.

Having said that, I'd strongly suggest you learn the MCDST material in detail, as knowing the right answers and applying the knowledge in a work environment are greatly different, and you will struggle immensely when it comes to that if you dont know the material.

Let this be a lesson to you and anyone else looking into training companies! :o)

You'd probably be better off starting another thread, especially considering that this thread is neither in the A+ section, nor is this thread about A+.

That said, you can find that information directly on CompTIA's Web site.
