So its been nearly 7 months now in my new role and the time has gone by so fast. I have settled in and comfortable in day to day tasks. There is still a lot to learn but definitely enjoying it. For those of you who don't know, I moved from a Team Lead role within a 1st/2nd line team to a IT Operations Team for the same company.

I work four days on and four days off - 12 hour shifts on a rota between nights and days. I was a bit hesitant at first and wondered who I would cope with the shifts but for me personally I've had no problems adapting. I've found that I don't really have a sleeping pattern so can easily switch from days and nights.

I stopped studying towards certifications for a while whilst I was learning more bespoke stuff for work but its time to get back onto it and complete my Linux Certifications!

I usef to work nights in retail and it made me ill.. I was seriously considering moving to nights at my current IT company as the £ are more but when I think of the shift patterns I cant bring myself to do it. At night I need to be in bed.
