I had a go at clay pigeon shooting last weekend at a Fete and really enjoyed it (Plus I actually managed to hit most of them (8 outta 10)) :)

I went to a local club yesterday and had another go, just to confirm that I actually enjoyed it. Today I joined the shooting club and had another go.

Yesterday I hit 14 outta 25 on Skeet, and today I managed 16 :) Hopefully I'll manage 25 at some point and get a patch :D

Maybe this'll get me out more, hey look ............. real people

    How is the shoulder :?:

Clays are fun - took me a few hours to get my "eye in". I much prefer .22 rifle both target and "for the pot".

In the past I did shoot .22 pistol but that is no longer allowed. Last year I had a tour of the local Police firearms traning facility and had a go with a Heck & Kough (spelling) 45mm even managed a good grouping.

Enjoy your guns - think safety ALL the time.

The shoulder isn't too bad ta :) Last week I used 28g cartridges whereas this week I used 24g. Made a hell of a difference too. Shoulder suffered bruising before but not this week :D

I'm not exactly big (size 8 ) so there isn't much meat on me, just skin n bone, but I love it :D

Good fun plus I get to socialise a bit. Real friendly crowd and a bloody good cafe :D Wot more could you ask :D

Used to hunt with my Dad when I was a kid but I never really developed an interest. Shot skeet, too. Target shooting's pretty good fun. I know that in the U.S., we have a "love affair" with firearms but I was never sure how that worked out in the U.K. I didn't think private citizens could own firearms...or is it just handguns. :?:

I don't own a shotgun, I just borrow either my mates or one from the club. You can own a shotgun as long as you have a licence and that it is kept in a locked gun cupboard and the ammo is kept elsewhere.

Have no idea about handguns :?

One tip from my lady shooter pals - don't wear a bra with any metal on the strap as you will have an imprint for days (and as you are all skin and bone!!)

Sorry mate, Butties are sandwiches. Bacon butties are fried bacon in a sandwich (normally a bread bun) with lashings of ketchup for me :D

No wonder there's such a concern about your weight. If you're skinny now...you won't be after a few of those artery clogging "butties".
