Hi all, I am Dave, 26 years old and am looking to start a career in IT.

I today signed up for a course at one of my local colleges that will give me the following qualifications BTEC First Diploma for ICT Practitioners and CISCO IT Essentials 1, as well as 2 or 3 additional exams that cover things like Customer Service skills etc which I believe would be a very handy thing to have on my CV for a 1st line support job.

After speaking to the tutor he said that this course will also cover around 70% of the knowledge required for A+ certification so am looking to learn some more through self study and then take the A+ exam.

I am slightly worried that I may not have made the right choice with the course after now signing up for it but I am quite a nervous person and try to analyse things too much so that probably explains it.

Anyway that is my little intro, hope to be around here quite often in the future.

    Dave

    Hey Dave,

Welcome to the forums and dont worry to much about the course. If you say you are analytical then you must of done some research that made want to do the course.

    Good luck with the studies.

Hi there and welcome. Most of what you have posted can be done via the self study route and would save you lots of money in the long run.
