Since the missus' computer just borked whilst I was attempting to upgrade the HDD, I've decided to buy her a machine from Dell Outlet.

As part of that, I intend to give her my GFX card (Geforce 8800GTS) and monitor, and give myself an upgrade whilst I'm at it.

I was considering this. What do you guys think? I'd prefer to stay with NVidia, and not spend more than a couple of hundred ideally.

I'm also on the lookout for a good monitor.

Not being much of a gamer I don't really know what the best graphics cards are currently,
I can however highly recommend Samsung monitors 8)

If you look around there's a nVidia 260 card that's pre-overclocked at about £100 cheaper and performs almost as well as the 280 (I say almost as well as in the very high resolutions it doesn't perform as well as the 280).
