hello all, im new to the certification game...............so im a little confused.can somebody please forward me to a map of all the certs available , which will show me which exams to do ,to become "something". right now i dont know what that "something" is, so i need to see what my options are.

i tried the microsoft cert website, but it did not fully explain what was required of me to become that "something"

im am a store manager looking to change careers, i have a good understanding of computer hardware ( build pc from scratch ),configuration of windows, as well as some sql knowledge.

so if you could point me towards a site that explains how certs work , would be really helpful.

also what certs should i get first which will enable to get a entry level job????

    thanks for all help.

    Welcome to the forums

Have a look at this (clickable link) for the "Official Microsoft Roadmap" or here for a downloadable Comptia Roadmap.

    Nice link AJ:thumbleft

I guess if your starting from scratch you should really go for the Comptia A+ cert. This will give you a a good understanding of how hardware and software work!:biggrin

    Good luck with your studies!:biggrin

    Hi Welcome

You should look at compTIA A+ as your first cert and then N+ and MCDST they are all entry level certs.

    Welcome to the forums...

:blink Before BM's list scares you off (although you did ask), use AJ's link for the Comptia Roadmap. That's the one you want to start with.

The more you learn, the more you realize how much more there is to learn.

Wait, didn't we cover that in another thread? :ohmy :biggrin
