    Hi all,

I have a general query to ask. You know if I map two different network shares to my computer and copy a file from one of the network shares to the other one from my computer (via the mapped drives) will this transfer the file to my computer before sending it to the network share (so will it use up my bandwidth or just send the file direct network share to network share)? been racking my brains about it for a while :dry

    Thanks for any help 8)

From mapped to you to mapped. Takes an absolute age to copy something.

Is this because the drives are mapped and it is not a direct server to server transfer?

    Yup.

Try using pstools to execute a robocopy on server1 to server2. Works LOADS faster.
