    The three ways a RIS client can boot from the network are;

    PXE Compliant Network Adapter
    Supported Network Adapter with boot disk
    Net PC configuration

    Can't seem to find out much about Net PC. I am using the MS Press self paced book (which is great by the way), and it says it is highly manageable but not much else.

    Google seems to come up with MS/Intel history...

    The Network PC—a slimmed down version of a personal computer without a floppy disk or CD-ROM drive—will be one of the first client computers to take advantage of RIS. Because of its lack of an external floppy disk drive, the Net PC will require use of the Remote OS Installation feature for the installation of the workstation operating system.
