While double checking my answer to a recent question I came across this trick which I hadn't known about.

When you have the window up for winipcfg right click the title bar and select 'Copy'.

Then bring up notepad (say) and paste. All the info that ipconfig would have found is pasted!

    :biggrin

Actualy I've been resurecting an old laptop. My company won't replace it so I've dug it out again and am trying to see what I can get running on it.

    Surprisingly, quite a lot actualy.

And I still have my win98se box at home which gets switched on occasionaly to get at things that don't work on the XP machine, such as my sw1000xg soundcard and Roland soundcanvas daughterboard.

Er - I mess about and listen in awe to others efforts!

I also have a Yamaha MU80 plus other stuff - all of it hopelessly underused!

    LOL...

This is not even a trick either but hey, thought I would add it...

In Win2K or above you can have the same result as above by using a bit of console redirection...

Try this in a cmd prompt...

    ipconfig > ip.txt

That will write a text file containing all the information from ipconfig into the file called ip.txt which will be in the folder that you are in on the command prompt.....

    Sad huh!
