Who would have thought it, I have a National Champion living at my place. My oldest Stuart, who is known to some of you, went down to London today to compete for the Junior Boys Pulling team, Stuart was the coxswain of his crew and after beating off the best of the Eastern district in August they competed at national level today and WON.

Now how proud do I feel??


When he gets home tomorrow I shall have a large glass of bubbly and no doubt a tear in my eye (what a softie)

and yes you try to keep him away from the bubbly, he's earned it. As for me I now have full bragging rights and everyone I meet in the pub today will get told about this.

 

Old thread I know but here goes.

My lad has jad to change from the junior boys to the open boys for the Sea Cadets pulling comp. If you read this thread from the beginning, you'll see that he is currently the national sead cadets champ for the Junior Boys class. This year he's had to move up a class and today made it to the National championships again.

Fingers crossed till the beginning of Sept

I am normally the first to moan about people raising old posts but I feel this is worthy.

Just realised that I didn't finish this off from last year. A bronze medal was earned in 2007 for the team.

Now 2008 today was the National Finals and not only was Stuart in the Senior Boys class again, my daughter Lara was in the Junior Girls team (infact Northampton had teams in all of the classes, not bad for a town 60 miles from the sea).

Lara came third in her class getting the bronze medal. The 3rd best team in the UK

Stuart's team came first winning the gold medal. National Champions.

They came back this evening absolutly knackered. Me and Mrs AJ are very proud of our 2 kids.

I do claim full bragging rights in the pub tomorrow.
