    Hey Gents,

I've had a quick look on Scan etc for a 1TB or so NAS Box, I'm using those passport USB drives at the moment, and the 9MB Transfer speeds are frankly doing my nut in.

I've had a quick google for reviews but almost every review is an amazing one no matter the product, so it's best to ask fellow IT workers for their own recommendations.

Something RAID0 or 1/0, maybe upgradable, and has to be able to sit on my desk or next to it. So best transfer speed/price ratio would be good.

    cheers guys.

We use the Thecus N8800 which is 12Tb for under 3k!
Admin panel works, could be better. iSCSI works a treat.
    Most RAID levels including RAID6.

Other than that if you are after cheaper than I can't offer advice.

I use a couple of Terastation Pro 2's at home, they are user upgradable (I purchased the 1tb units, they are now 6tb units). Failing that I would look at building your own NAS\SAN solution with Openfiler (I use that as well) or as a last resort (if it's for home use) I would also look at something like a Windows Home Server (I have one of those running on a Celeron Shuttle without issue).

All in all there are a lot of options out there for you, it just depends on how far you want to take it.
