I thought that too. Moreover, once i run ESET first time, everytime i tried to access the Internet, all applications
from my computer seemed like ESET and demanded access through Zone menu!

ESET uses a very low amount of memory so running a scan whilst being on the internet shouldn't slow things down a lot but it still will just like every other security suite. But you definetly shouldn't be running two of them.

Yup, perhaps uninstall all AV products and then just install the one you want to use. Then patch the OS.

Also - anything in the event logs?!?!

You have already been told to do this but you never seem to read everybodies posts. In startup and recovery switch off automatic restart on error then you can see what error you get when the this happens. There must be something in event viewer check all parts of event viewer i.e system etc.

Does it shut down properly? For example can you see Windows logging off and then shut down or does it just cut out so to speak.

It is not easy to check the DC current with a multimeter as it would need to be put *in line* with the circuit. I am sure what you meant to say, is check that the power supply is giving a steady and stable DC output voltage 8)

I was trying to help but its pretty obvious Kobem needs a basic computer class and **** knows how he got his CCNA especially not knowing the difference between drivers and firmware thread.

I'm sure what you meant to say is that the power supply is giving a steady and stable DC Output potential difference since we all know 'voltage' is not really the correct term. :)

windows vista doesn't log off, directly shuts itself down. Event viewer doesn't express me anything about it. One more
thing, im running the laptop on mains as much as possible.

Have you removed one of the anti virus packages off the machine?

If you remove the battery ( and leave it removed) and just run it from the mains power - does it still shut down?

Had you considered that maybe the machine is attempting suicide?

I saw it in a film once.

It makes perfect sense when you think about it...
