    Hi all
Well i took it once 271 when i was 14/15 and failed by a few points then rebooked a year or so later and got the day wrong and missed it so 3rd time lucky. took a practice test and passed so a week reading up on my weakist subjects like dns and wins. Only have the exam cram though. It does cover sp2. but now with sp3 although no noticable changes i could see do you think it will include and sp3 questions?

Any advice from anyone who has take 271 recently.

Because i think i have to book the exams with these bloody vouchers i bought to many of not knowing the experation i booked 271 for friday and then 272 for the next friday. i might be pushing myself a bit to far but with time off im fairly confident about 271 just 272 im unsure off as ive not even read any of the exam cram book for 272. however i do have on myside a shed loads of experience with XP.

From my point of view the xp exams are worded to get you out if you see what i mean the vista ones have been well worded.

Would i be pushing my luck at booking 621 2 weeks after. im just hating the fact that my vouchers might go to waste as tried to register for an exam in oct and they said the exp but i saw one on ebay and they said it exp 19th of oct.

Is there any sort of exam voucher checker as the guy in russia was useless at letting me know this info.

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi mate,

1st good luck with your exams, 2nd you know when you've passed all your exams? You would probibly have to share your transcript with an employer which shows the dates you passed these exams. To an employer, I personally think its going to look suspicious that you have passed them all within a week or two of each other, WITHOUT having worked in IT. Now don't get me wrong, check my threads and posts and you'll see I'm an advocate of believing in peoples honesty regarding exams BUT I want to be honest with you. I am on the "very" fast track myself, worked in IT for 10 years; I'm a Chartered IT Professional and YET its taken me 7 months to get my MCSA: Security, which is still considered a blistering pace, comprised of 20+ hours study from 1/1/09.

I'm not judging you, I wish you all the best but its my opinion you should hold your horses a bit if you want to be taken seriously in an industry that is victim to a lot of fraudulent characters unfortunately.

Yes i do see where your coming from.
Personal preference is that i wouldnt be put in this position.
Im not wasting £300 worth of exam vouchers lol.
I am a special case i like to think as ive been working doing it repair since i was 14 and have been working do absolutely all sorts of things in the 4 years ive been doing it. I have got That experience in the exams ive taken.
Connected home integrator its about xbox +whs Which i have both setup here.
Sales specialist well i kind of thought i do this now when quoting a customer a set of options to meet their needs.

Vista config well its been vista ever since it came out running on some of my pcs which i have 8 desktops +1 server and several laptops. These are not ****ty desktops all running quite decent spec. you have to meet me to believe it i suppose as the sterotypical view is that a 18 year old couldnt do all these.

Ive got all the books for the relative exams ive studdied them. I have been using XP and Vista for the 4 years that ive been working there. So know them very well.

Im only taking exams relative to my experience hence my previous posts saying i only want to exams relative to my experience. Its not like im braindumping to get mcse is it? im just backing up the 4 years experience with relevent qualifications. 2 of which 625-626 my little brother could do.

Ive got a legit reason for doing them.

Please dont feel im getting arsy with you because i really am not because ive really appreciated your advice in previous threads.

If it wasnt for IT i wouldnt be here on this earth. because it really is my passion and has been the only light out of the tunnel of my previous depression. and my lovely girlfriend aswell.:biggrin

Ive just canceled my 272. I will do the 271 and leave it at that now. As i suppose passing 4-5 in 2 months does look suspicious just a shame people cant be genuine.
Last thing i want to do is shoot myself in the foot. so will pase then out if i can. Just my vouchers are only valid untill sept.

    anyone want to buy any?

Thats a good attitude to have. You'd be better off selling your vouchers and pacing yourself IMO. I'm not saying you aren't capable of studying hard because I'm a study demon myself so I know where you are coming from. Its just that your first interview for an IT role is going to be made more difficult explaining why you've done basically a normal persons years work in 2 months. Just tryin to give it to you straight mate. Best of luck, Jim

im not saying you can't do an exam in 2weeks cus i did the 70-271 in a little over 2 weeks but that was with studying 6-8 hours every day. this was my first IT certificate and just like you im not working in an IT job where i get to practice these things, so when i took the test i was completely nervous and i didn't know what to expect from the exam. and i found it incredibly hard and i think that was mainly down to lack of "real" working experience.

but once you pass it does become kinda addictive, not necessarily taking exams but learning.
so the only advice i can say is take your time learning for the first exam and once you know what the real exam is like you can kinda get an idea of what sort of level of questions you're gonna get in the 70-272 exam.
