I wonder if anyone knows the answer to this because I'm stumped.

I want to connect a second monitor to my laptop. I want it to display exactly what's on the screen on the laptop.

I connect the second monitor to my laptop, and install the driver. Enable the second monitor as an extension of my desktop.

It works, I can drag a window across onto the second monitor. But I can't seem to find a way to get it to display the same thing on the laptop at once.

    Any ideas?

In the 'settings' tab of the screen properties there should be a tickbox saying something like 'extend my desktop'. Try unticking it.

To be honest I aint sure this can be done...at least within windows...but maybe if u use the software for the graphics card itself that might sort it out for u...

Aye, I use this setting all the time fot a LCD projector. Most laptops allow you to use the Fn key with F8 or one of those. It will switch between mirroring the monitor, extending the desktop etc.
