msn messenger and other downloads

I need msn and yahoo messenger installed so I contact people.

I just tried downlaoding msn through knoppix.

The downlaod proceeded, but I got some dialog box with something about 'WINE.'

This dialog box said after the downlaod that it was a failure apparently, and that WINE was still in development so problems can occur.

How can I get msn on knoppix, is it possible :?:

I haven't tried yahoo messenger just yet, as my main messenger is msn.

use GAIM
should be installed by default
allows connections to Yahoo, AOL, ICQ, MSN, Jabber all from one client
I use it on my windows box too in the place of having 5 clients lol

if its not installed by default on knoppix, get it off the net
search for gaim

Sounds like a real handy app.
