This may be a stupid question but.... I'm planning on doing a few MOS exams to improve my CV and planning on doing Word and Excel for both 2010 and 2013, and here is the question can i use Office 2007 to study for the 2010 MOS exams or am I going to have to buy a copy of Office 2010 (since there are no longer any Trail version).

In my experience Word and Excel 2007 and 2010 are visually fairly similar (ribbon etc) but I can't say what's going on behind the scenes will be. There's also a chance wizards will have changed and such like.

My experience with 2013 is that it looks pretty overhauled but has a similar core to 2010. Though I'm expecting to be proved wrong as my technical knowledge of Office isn't fantastic!

Do you work somewhere with an Office Licence? If so it might be worth enquiring on whether they are signed up to the Home Use Program.

At the moment I'm currently a freelancer so no luck in grabbing a copy from work. I'll see from the training guide if the products are close enough.

It would probably be best to get a copy of 2010.

I completed mine with only a month's use of 2010 after using 2003 and 2007 extensively. Luckily I had access to a free copy through work to test for a system upgrade at a later date. Any chance of work providing one?

Funnily I now use 2013 in work! (new job)
