Its been a while since i used a Cat 5000, we use a Cat 6500 here at work, which is a modern switch
but from what i can gather its using the old CatOS (or something similar, and not the IOS)

here is a cut from show version

    WS-C6509 Software, Version NmpSW: 7.6(9)

any ideas guys? whats the NmpSW 7.6? im used to working on IOS 12.x and the commands with this are skewiff!
    lol

edit: nm, finally managed to find a glimmer of info on the cisco weby, apprantly nmpSW is indeed catOS, not IOS
