mobo question

    does anyone know if this mobo will take a celeron 2.3ghz cpu ??

    Possibly. You will need to determine the exact model of the processor and the revision of the motherboard to be certain.

    Hm - best match would make that a Northwood. While Gigabyte don't specificaly mention that processor on their compatability list I suspect it would probably work.

    Two suggestions - ID the processor that is actualy installed with something like CrystalCPUID (here ) - sometimes there are mistakes in docs!

    And if you are proposing to buy this motherboard from scan then ask them and get their OK. That way the compatability is part of the deal, so if it doesn't work you have a better lever to get them to change it.

    Have you tried reading PC format magazine?

    It has a hardware super test this month (#185) that covers motherboards, very interesting. :)
