Microsoft yanks Vista SP1 update causing endless reboots

February 20, 2008 (Computerworld) Responding to reports of endlessly rebooting PCs that flooded support newsgroups last week, Microsoft Corp. said on Tuesday it had pulled an update designed to prep Windows Vista for Service Pack 1. Although the update -- actually a pair of prerequisite files that modify Vista's install components -- has been temporarily pulled from Windows Update, Microsoft has not yet produced a fix for users whose machines either won't boot or reboot constantly.

Vista DOES work right... you just haven't taken the time to learn where everything is. :) That's not the fault of the OS... ;)

There you go then... you can see how wonderful Vista is... don't you like the new Event Viewer, Sidebar and Sideshow? 8) Doesn't the ability to do whizzy things with IE7, and Meeting Space just get you all pumped up? :p

Yes, by both Mike and Josh. :dry That is why it will stay in my private collection with my other signed books. They mean more to me then just the knowledge they hold.

I’ve rolled out the service pack to all the customers I support and so far there has been no issues. Phew! :biggrin

The SP is 400MB btw for the 32bit version. 8)

ZING! I knew you had hung yourself the second you said it. :biggrin

Psst... Giddy... look at the acknowledgements. You can't expect me to say what I said about her and not sign her book, do you? 8)

Send me your book with money to cover the cost of shipping it back, and I'll sign yours too!

Or better yet, fly me out there, and I'll personally come sign it for you. :deal
