Has anyone signed up to Microsoft Partner Programme as an individual? The company I work for has already signed up as a partner but I want to sign up so I can get all the perks, such as the Action Pack.

Looking at the enrolment page I think I have to sign up as a new company or as an individual on behalf of the company I work for. This is harder than the 70-291 exam! :biggrin

    Spark,

Yes, I am. JonnyMX suggested it to me when I started working with him.

Register as yourself - I assume it is for your sole use and you will be paying the fee?

What part are you stuck on?

I was stuck on the first page as it said I could sign up as a new company or as an individual on behalf of the company I work for (which is already a certified partner).

I just used my own company name (from a few years ago) and signed up. Ordered the Action Pack so will wait and see.

Yeah its for myself as the Action Pack at work is well used and I wouldn’t mind having my own one. Hopefully will get Office and Vista if all goes to plan. 8)

How long did it take for the Action Pack to arrive? Said around 2 weeks when I ordered.

    Yup.

I've been a subscriber for years.
It is a fantastic opportunity if you want to play with all the MS stuff, and another reason why I'm a MS supporter.

Don't get it just to have XP and Office - only go there if you intend to run a home network and try stuff out.

£16,000 worth of software for £200 per year with regular updates?

You can run a small business off that!

Oh, yeah, you have to enrol as a 'registered member' of the MS Partner Program. It doesn't cost anything and you can lie - at this level no one checks up on you.

Just say that MS is great...

I don't think it takes long, Spark - 2 weeks sounds right.

Yep, you can look forward to Vista, Office and other delights!

Yeah, the whole reason I want it is so I can make different networks up for testing. I don’t have Exchange Server, SQL Server or ISA which is a hassle.

Having a look at Vista and Office is an added bonus. 8)

Something I plan to do in the not to distance future is get a Non-NAT Business account (about £30 per month) for the flat and run exchange, ISA and possibly a web server for training.

Sparky, just sign up as your private company. Another benefit to the action pack subscription for your 'private' company is that you get to take it off your tax (well at least I do). :biggrin

BTW, I just got my quarterly update today. Very happy I am. :D

Sounds like Microsoft is doing something right with the Action Pack.

It will be handy to have a copy of Exchange etc. I’ve set all of this up at work but its always good to mess around with them on a test server to try different things. Don’t want to destroy an Exchange server at work and give myself more work to do! :biggrin

If you read the small print when you agree to register with Microsoft, you also give them the right to come into your home and audit your books at any time they feel the need
