    As the title suggests, I would love to hear your opinions on wheather or not I need MS Press and/or Sybex books to study for these exams.

    Thanks

    Hi Sean,

    I used the MS Press stuff for the MCDST;

    This, with XP Professional and Office you will be ready to go!

    Good luck!

    Christ that was quick!

    Thanks Boyce, I only ask because I remember seeing a post on here stating that they found questions in the exam not covered in the MS books but in the Sybex.

    We aim to please! I am of the opinion that the more angles you can look at something from (!) the better!

    Seriously, if you can afford MS and Sybex, get them! I bought 3 books for the A+ - all worth reading and keeping on the shelf. Sometimes, an author has the knack of explaining certain things better than others.

    Good luck, post whenever you need help.

    Note: you should probably study for the MCDST exams, not the MCSDST exams. ;)

    UCM,

    The MS press books do have questions at the end of each chapter, but in all honesty, you need Transcender (or similar) to check for readiness.

    Thanks Boyce, after much thought and advice from Sparky and BM I have decided to go the route of MCDST like sure shot. I think it's the best way forward to getting a MCP!:biggrin

    True but like Sparky implied I would be better off doing:- the exams 70-271 than the others.

    Not any; some will get you the MCTS instead: link

    That said, 70-271 and 70-272 both qualify as MCP exams.
