    Hi everyone

I am halfway for my mcdst certificate (I'll have my second exam in a week or two).

After that I'd like to continue studying and I am thinking at MCSA cert.

My problem is that I am not working in the industry (I am not working at all, unfortunately) and I would not have access to a server/domain, although I do have 2 machines connetted in a workgroup.

Would it be possible to study and get certified as MCSA without hands-on work on a proper server/domain?

    Thanks

You say you have to PC's... well when you start MCSA you will get Server 2003 evalutaion edition for 180 days i think.. you can install that along with the xp you have right now. I have had all my hands on experience for MCSA in my lab at home and very litle bit here at work (just last week was my first!! :biggrin )

You might want to read the MCSE part of this as they apply to MCSA too!

    Thanks, this is encouraging

I'll get my mcdst and then I'll have a go with that 'serious stuff'

you should do 270 up first as it will just me more advance material from 271 - just cover the objective and get plenty of hands on! 8)

Exactly what I was going to suggest zimbo :)

I'm lucky as I do work around servers, albeit nothing too indepth, but it's experience never-the-less.
