Morning guys, I'll get staight to the point!

Im currently doing Network+ and have the MCSA next on the list, my company has funded for a few courses for the certs so my question is this. What is the best order to take the courses/exams for the MCSA? Im a little bit stumped.

Theres the 70-270, 70-290, 70-291 and the 70-284 (Exchange Elective)

Other then Exchange being last, im a little unsure of the first 3. Im guessing the 290 should go before 291, but where does the 270 fit in nicely? Is the order in my Sig the way to go? Any opinions/suggestions?

That looks like a good order. There should be some overlap between 270 and 290 since they both focus on OSes. Then there will be more overlap between 290 and 291.

The only reason that I would recommend to change the order, is if you have a lot more experience with server then XP.

If you already have the A+ and are currently doing the N+ then you can use those two exams as the elective for your MSCA 2K3 (you could leave out the 70-284 completely if you wanted).

As for the order, it's always best to do the client exam first. The I would do the 290 & 291. As for overlap between the latter two, I didn't think there was much to be honest. Yes they are both Server 2003 exams, but the concepts in the 291 are very indepth and if at all are lightly skimmed across in the 290.

Thanks for the advice guys, very much appreciated.

My employer wants me to do the Exchange exam as its something we dont really have covered at the moment, so I'll do that as a bonus. Hopefully I will go after my MCSE at some point, in which case I believe its one of the exams I can do to get there so its all good!
