Hello everyone,

I have just completed my MCSA through private college and self study,
but as I don' have any work experience it has been suggested I do A+ and Network+
to have a good chance of getting a first job in IT. These two exams should not take me
too long to study for as I know most of the material through studying for the MCSA.

Also I have read many times in this forum that it is not worth getting MCSE unless you
have few years experience.

any advice would be appreciated.

I think you'll find the A+ a completely different kettle of fish entirely and alot of the N+ stuff as well will be new although the basic concepts granted you will probably already know. If you have no experience though the MCSA unfortunately wont mean a thing to employers as its supposed to be studied and passed along with working in an environment of the correct size.

You will probably do well to leave the mcsa off your CV as it can even hurt your chances of gaining employment. Everyone in IT starts at the bottom (or at least 99.999% do) so you should be applying for helpdesk jobs and small computer repair companies really. By all means study and include the A and N+ but I would strongly advise you to leave off the mcsa.

Put it this way if someone said they have passed all the exams required to work on formula one cars but have never actually even so much as changed a tyre, would you let them work on your car..... I wouldn't.
