MCP e-Store

Had a look at the MCP e-Store yesterday... I am not into displaying certs on the wall in the office at work (got them on the wall in my office at home instead... )... but thought I might buy myself one of the little leather wallets, as a keepsake for passing my first MS exam.

Went through the whole process of adding to cart, going to checkout, only to find the item in question would cost me an arm and a leg to ship to the UK...

I emailed the e-Store people, asking id I could order through MS in Reading, UK. They didn't answer my question, merely pointed out that shipping prices were set by UPS. Great! But... can I get my wallet from MS in the UK?

Are MS daft? Or is it only me who feels they may be missing the trick here? Surely they'd sell more 'merchandise' in the UK (maybe they do...) if UK residents could actually buy/ship in the UK.

 

I would actually escalate it, but there is nowhere that you can escalate to... ridiculous!

 

I'll buy a bunch of stuff, ship it over to you, and you guys can distribute it from there.

 

The MCP e-store is actually handled by a 3rd-party, not by Microsoft, so it's unlikely that you could get the item from MS in Reading.

 

Heh heh... we could set up the UK distribution arm of the e-Store...

 

They must be blind to the money they're losing by not having a UK arm. Do they think all MS techs earn £80k pa?

 

I wish all MS techs did earn £80k pa, I could have so much more fun on the weekends!
