Hey guys,

Just had to share the great news that today I have achieved MCDST status. Got a 823 which was a little better than my 816 for the 70-271. I took about two months to study for it, would have been shorter if I didn't go so slow in the beginning.

Got 53 questions and there were a lot of tricky ones that I went with my gut and made an educated guess on cause there were two answers that made sense, but the way they worded the question made me doubt the answer that I thought was right. SOmetimes there would be questions where the answer was not apparent but I had to pick the lesser of evils, though I didn't agree with the answer whole-heartedly.

ANyway, much thanks for all of you guys who have been an inspiration to me. I've put off getting certs for so long, and after seeing all you guys doing your thing I've been inspired to go on this road. My goal is to get my MCSA by middle of next year. Gonna try and have the 70-270 and 70-290 knocked out by years end. For the guys who still have to get this done, I wish you all the best of luck!

How long did you think it took you to do the exam. I am on jury duty at the moment and it starts at 10 finishes at 4 and the first exam in the centre in Edinburgh is at 9am.

There is a centre in Fife(40mins away by car) that opens on a sautrday but that would decrease the amount of seats available to get a spot.

Thanks! I took about a little over an hour to finish both exams (not together, of course). I'd say that you allow yourself the time allotted for the exam. The worst thing you can do is have to worry about getting somewhere while you're taking the exam.

 

Looks like I will have to do them on the saturday at the other exam centre or hope the guy pleads guilty.
