Just installed KDE as an alternative to Gnome on 6.06

I think it makes a nice change. The desktops on offer from the server are beautiful!

Keep up the good work boys :thumbleft

As I understand it, KDE is has had MS's much vaunted transparency for quite some time now, and with no high-powered video card required.

I still prefer Gnome over KDE but KDE does have a lot of eye candy!

Yeah, i have always used Gnome too and found it very nice.

Actually, there are at least a dozen different gui's you can install and use on a Linux machine. A computer with Linux isn't your old daddy's computer anymore.... :D

You're not in OZ anymore, Boyce. :biggrin

I like a minimal GUI on my boxes.

I have been using CTWM for years. It has the extra property of completely confusing visitors to my desk who can't 'read' it because the familiar Windows landmarks aren't there!

I will see how i *get on* with KDE. It is starting to look a bit like Linspire so could go back to Gnome!
