Just requested my MAC code tonight. Advisor told me i will receive it in an email in about 5 days or so, no confirmation email of this tho, is that normal Sparky?
Also signed up to Be, just need the code to get the ball rolling.

Aye, no confirmation but I got the MAC code after 3 days from the original request.

Once you get things going with BE its fairly painless and you also get text alerts to let you know how your order is progressing which is handy.

No downtime with the switch as well, just plugged in the Be Box (speed touch modem) and configured the static IP and that was it.

Free static IP with Be Unlimited btw. 8)

Since they switched to opal in January the service has been terrible. Unfortunately I'm stuck with AOL for over a year. I changed my price plan in Nov, and every time you do that you renew your contract which they didn't bother to tell me.

I'm moving house this summer so I might just pay the fees and start fresh with a new ISP.

Ive already started getting txt alerts from Be. Whats the Be box like? Are you going to swap it out for your own router?

Whats happened to your AOL email addy? Can you keep that or is that gone aswell

Its alright as a free modem, I remember the crappy USB modems you used to get when you signed up to an ISP. The only reason I’m using it is because my old Netgear didn’t support ADSL2 even with the latest firmware.

I think in time I`ll swap the router but its doing the job for now. The full spec of it is on the BE website.

I just ditched my AOL email addy, my dad is using AOL as well but his connection is ok so I’m using a second mailbox on his account. 8)

I use the BE router. On the whole, it's pretty good. Does what it says on the tin.

Same here as we use the BE router as isp too, they're pretty good on the customer service and service side of things too:)

Il probably use the Be router until my line stabilises and then il try my dlink as it has ADSL2+ support and see if the connection speed is any better with that.

Nah, ive just stuck with dynamic, cant really think of any reason that i need a static. My speeds are excellent considering ive got an attenuation of 40.5. Ive had interleaving turned off and im going to adjust my SNR when im off work later this week to see if i can get a bit more speed.:)

Not sure what you mean mate, originally the DNS was pointing to the router and then forwarded to whatever DNS servers were given through DHCP onto the ADSL port. Ended up having to point DNS to a different server to browse the web.

No drama so far with be broadand 8)

I think I have been getting the same. When I did an ipconfig /all parts were missing and I had to keep resetting the router. although I could get on the net my download speed was very bad and had slow connection time.

It sounds like your having the same issues with AOL aswell. Things were fine till the change to opal servers.

Im pleased ive changed to Be, the changeover was nice and smooth, and my throughput is excellent now. Customer service is good aswell, i put a ticket in yesterday to remove interleaving and it was done within an hour! :)

Sounds like your still on AOL servers, when they changed me over it came up with opal instead of aol on the speedtest website.

Still on AOL servers, if your connection starts playing up check again. There was a big change when I was migrated.
