Yep it is true, and I can't believe it! Got a call last night from a recruitment agency who had found my CV on jobsite.com. She asked me a few questions and told me she would forward my CV to capital 1.

Then I got a call this morning asking if I would attend an interview this friday. The job is for a 1st line support role which involves dealing with internal and external calls. Skills are required in MS Office, Novell, Outlook, Windows 2000 & 2003 and NT, SP2, Active Directory.

To be honest I havent had any experience with Novell and only a tiny bit with outlook. Do you think this will affect my chances? Anyone got any tips for me to impress the interviewer?

    Great news, nice one!

As far as Outlook's concerned, I run it at my company and to be honest, theres not alot to do, pretty much runs itself. If you show good skills in the other aspects, outlook shouldnt pose much of a problem.

Good luck, let us now how it goes! :D

    That's good news, good luck.

Don't worry about not having alot of experience, if they think that you are the right person for the job, they will train you up for the postion.

Very good piece of advice, we've currently interviewing for a DBA and the last bloke started so well as he'd been on our site and done his research.

Don't worry talk slowly but firm and calmly and try not to be too worked up or stress. Stay relaxed and calm and give it your best shot look and sound keen.

If they ask you if you have any questions at end of interview ask them if they have any reservations about you and that you're keen and the role would be ideal for you. Plus what would be your likely role if successful. I'm sure you'd do just fine. Cheerio:D

I was selcted for a Capital One interview recently but i decided not to attend the interview in the end, as the actual role didnt fit with my current career path. However my recruitment consultant went into great detail about previous people who had been unsuccessful. The main issue they found was the 'lack of knowledge of Capital 1' and 'had no real desire to get into personnal credit or Capital 1'. I know it seems silly but some blue chip companies want to here that its been your life long ambition to work fr them. Its best to find a link between yourself and capital one as they are bound to ask why you want to work for them.
    Good LUck:biggrin

Well I went yesterday to my interview all suited up. When I got there I was like "Whaaaa", the place was huge, big offices etc.

I was interviewed by 2 people, so that was pretty daunting. But they were chilled out and told me to relax on the sofa. Asked me a few questions like how would I add a user to a group and the commands to renew an IP and flush DNS. I answered them all fine. It was a very nice place and the people I met were cool and laid back. It would be a nice place to start my IT career.

Anyway they said I have a good chance (They proberly say that to all the applicants) and that I seemed very keen. They will give me an answer no later than 2 weeks so we'll see what happens.
