I always keep a few extra keyboards and mice around for when they fail. They're cheap. Buy a new one. Alternately, you've probably got a broken spring and I imagine that, if you take the time to disassemble the beast, you'll find it...but it's probably more aggrevation than it's worth.

 

Turn the KB upside down and shake ... ALL sorts of c**p will fall out.

Paper clips normally cause this problem.
