Thanks to the people who voted me the members award, I am not sure why I was nominated and won but hopefully I have been useful in my almost 11 months here. Hopefully I'll be a member for a long time to come

I voted for you because you have done so much on CF with regards to supporting other members here. Clocking up the posts does look impressive but it is what is said in the posts that counts. I must admit although you state your a newbie in some of your posts/threads. You don't seem to be afraid to get stuck in and say your piece and help people when they need it!

You come across (in your posts/threads) as someone who cares and supports the CF community here

So that's why I voted for you!

I really hate those guys. They taught a generation of youth that it was cool to be a moron.

I disagree - it's just entertainment. I never once thought it was cool to be a moron by watching them... nor did I believe that coyotes were unlucky because they chased roadrunners.

 

I have to disagree. At the risk of highjacking GBL's thread, by the same token, you could say that kiddie pr0n is "just entertainment". While their is a world of difference between B&B and pr0n, if you say one is "just entertainment", you can get away with saying that *anything* is "just entertainment" and thus remove any basis for finding anything objectionable or valuing one type of content over another.

While you may not have seen B&B as anything objectionable, I was a parent of young children at the time and I certainly didn't want that krap to be filling their heads. Look at all the lousy role models kids and teens pattern themselves after these days. I can think of a lot of other forms of entertainment I'd want to watch or want my kids to watch then those two characters.

Rant over.

I actually really liked beavis & butthead, I don't think it taught a generation to be morons but it did show what could happen if you watched MTV all day long, and I don't think there would be show like Southpark or Family guy without B & B.
