Wow...a lot has happened but then that is expected.

Quick update on what's been happening with me.

I dont know if I told anyone before I left, but I was paying over £420 a month (from March to Oct) to the CSA (Child Support Agency) for my son who I dont see anymore (long story which some of you know about I think). I got a letter at the end of Oct with a cheque saying I no longer have to pay anything as his mother closed the case. I found out that she in fact no longer wanted my money. The CSA have confirmed I am due back 3 months worth of money. So yeah its a lot! Its a good thing in one way but then a bad thing in another.

On a more positive note, some of you (most notably Arroryn, Leehaa and Zeb) may have noticed I have begun my new PC purchases.

List so far includes:
Intel Q6600 (oc'd to 3.6GHz)
4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM (2x2GB)
2x 500GB HDD (1x Samsung, 1x Maxtor)
ASUS P5Q-E motherboard
Arctic Cooler Freezer Xtreme CPU Cooler (its fecking huge!!)

I have put these in my current gaming machine replacing all the AMD stuff that was in there. But this is not the complete line up as I am due to get this lot to finish it off:

ATI 4870 X2 2GB GDDR5 Graphics card (its the beast of graphics cards!!)
Antec 1200 case
Antec Neopower 650W modular PSU
Dell 24" full HD LCD monitor

So by the time I have finished it, it will actually be my 4th PC. So at the moment you could say I have 3 and a half PCs lol...so its a big change around for me over the next couple of months. but things are moving which I am pleased about. When I have finished this new gaming machine I would have spent well over £1200 altogether. MADNESS!! haha.

Anyway, how is everyone doing? I havent really read any posts as there is clearly too many to read lol.

Sorry to hear that you don't see your son at all. That's very sad. My youngest child (daughter) is 20, but I'd be very depressed if, for whatever reason, I couldn't ever see my children.

Those Antec 1200s are big and keep things cool. You can totally live with all the fans on medium but it gets a bit noisy if they are all on high.

Agree with GBL. the antec fans get noisy on the high setting. I got a antec nine hundred case and leave all the fans on the medium setting and the noise level it still a bit load but not too bad that I cant hear myself thing

I have two Antec 900 cases already so I already know the noise level with the fans on medium lol...

Why did I leave? lets just say it was to do with a matter of indifference in opinions. Otherwise I am no longer bothered now.

Trip, I hear what you are saying man. It is not a nice thing not being able to see your child let me tell you. But I am coping. and thats the main thing.

 

the case is great and has plenty of holes for hiding you cables away. The only cables you can see in mine is two SATA ones peeking out of a hole going into a drive and one the un used PSU cables. Apart from that I have maximum air flow with my Northbridge and southbridge hitting around 30 degrees C. The highest I have seen the NB go is 44.

I am going to get the two optional fans put in too to try and cool the cpu down even more, it's a pain in the arse because apps like speedfan and core temp don't read the temperature correctly for the warfdale e8400 cpu although Real Temp is supposed to which it says I am at 37 degrees when Idle but I want cooler than that.

yeah I agree...thats what I love about the 1200, the cable management they have employed on it. Clearly Antec have been listening to their fans (excuse le pun haha). I have ordered it today so it should arrive next week sometime

You've not had a good dose of it lately if you must really ask that question. Although, not so much here anymore. I've jumped into learning photoshop and have had to find sites that suit this need since there are not a lot of serious photoshop users here. I've join NAPP, and while it will never be CF it suits my needs for the directions my life is heading in now.

I too am sorry to hear about what is going on with you and your son. I will keep both you and your child in my prayers for a quick reunion.
