This also marks my first successful run though an MS Press book, which took me forever to read, but was well worth it. Already dreading the 291 book though.

    Lets see.
I had 45 questions, and 320 minutes to complete the exam.
I finished with only 30 minutes to spare, but I'm a slow poke. This was my first time experiencing sim questions, and as a result I spent way too much time on them since I was quite paranoid about whether or not I was doing things the way Microsoft wanted me to do them.
The sims mostly had to do with user accounts and managing resources.
I wish I could say "make sure you know so and so, but the exam for me was all over the place, I can't say there was a predominate topic at all.

    Scored an 828
Can't think of much else to say really, any specific questions?

Congratulations on the pass! Good score too.

Just wondering, is 320 Minutes correct, as that works out as 5 hours 20 minutes? Hope I get that long, as I'd probably need it

    Congrats!!!

I'm about to book 290 for 8 weeks time. I have finished reading the MS press book and have set up the lab in VMware, now just need to do the practicals, and some practive tests, then hit my weaker subjects hard.

It took me about 2 and a half months to study for this Exam. For the past 10 months I've been working as a server admin on a Windows 2000 domain. Before this job I was a service technician at a retail store for a good 6 years... Which didn't teach me much besides backing up and re-imaging to make a quick buck (Maybe I'm exaggerating a little), but was enough to get my foot in the door here at this company, since then its been trial by fire, as all but one (my manager) of the previous IT staff left.

I actually used my 290 study guide to deploy WSUS on my domain here which was a great help, knew WSUS inside and out by the end of it.

I learned a lot while preparing for this exam, I also ended up modifying our TS config as well as our backup jobs as a result of the knowledge I had acquired.

So long story short, 10 months Server Admin experience

Looking forward to the 291 as it will give me the tools I need to sit down and gain a better understanding of how the network here is setup (I hope).

Josh and I used to work at Transcender, both before and after the "apocalypse", when Self Test purchased Transcender. By choice, we now work for Boson. :)
