    :D Hurray so I have an interview for a Junior ICT Technician in an hour at a local small company who are getting really busy and looking to expand.
    Have been going through my interview questions and preparing and calming myself, visualising, etc.
    Now just to quickly search through these here forums on anything about interview questions for technical posts

    Best of luck, don't be disheartened if experience is an issue - even when a junior role they can expect a bit much, at least you get the interview experience :-}

    Thankyou all for the well wishes!

    Well, that was quite possibly one of the easiest interviews I have ever had. It seemed more like an informal chat than an interview, I spent all day preparing my answers to questions and questions to ask them, and in the end barely needed any of it.

    I just started out with the unit manager looking through my CV and talking to me about the tech part of the job and also stating (what became a recurring theme) how there is also a fair amount of customer service involved and showed me around the premises etc

    Then he took me into speak to 1 of the company owners, there were no doors or windows in the industrial unit fittings so it's all open and everyone can overhear you etc. The co-owner just asked me a couple of small questions like "This role at first would involve alot of front desk work/customer focus, would you be comfortable with that?" "How would you rate your technical experience" and "Do you have a driving licence?" etc etc, nothing like the usuals "How would you describe yourself" blah. And he just talked me through the job and the company really. What really suprised me was when he said that what got me the interview was my experience in customer service on my CV, although the job Does involve technical work. At some point he said he was impressed by my confidence and I was answering all the right way

    Anyway, they had one applicant before me, and are seeing 2 more today, and apparently by the end of today they should know which 2 applicants they wish to ask back in for one last session etc to see who they feel should get the job. I am fairly confident I was a shining candidate :D, but we shall see

    Just goes to show that employers require (soft) skills that can be gained from previous non-technical posts :)

    Good luck and let us know how you get on :)

    Good luck.

    Unfortunately I was in the exact same position last week, I was told they would've offered me the job on the spot if they hadn't had other people to see and it wouldn't be fair on them. Result: :cry:
    If the worst happens, keep your chin up and take heart from the fact that you interviewed well.

    Congratulations, sounds like a good first step into the industry.

    Work hard, show that you can take on responsibility, and learn as much as you can (and apply it).

    Good luck
