Hi everyone

Just a quick post to ask that if anyone on here from Scotland hears of any vacancies becoming available at there work for IT support or similar , could they please drop me a PM so I can apply
I have been struggling to get back into IT after taking time off to get my HND at college and it was advised after a previous post that I should make contacts on here to try and get myself back into IT
I have about a years and halfs experince and also am just finishing up my HND

Where abouts in Dumfriesshire mate? Im from Dumfries and I work as an IT Engineer. Did you see the Trainee IT Engineer job that was advertised with the NHS a few months back? It was in the local papers?

Have you tried looking for jobs in Carlisle? I have my IT job in Carlisle, and commute there from Dumfries.

I'll keep my eyes open mate. Although, we'll be applying for the same jobs as Im looking for a new job as well! lol

Yeah it's good. In a switching lecture the now :P going straight to third year is tough but, I've been doing all the CCNP stuff like routing and switching. Got some cool classes but, like ethical hacking and digital forensics, it's pretty good but. I came straight from college too cali aswell. What college you at?

 

cool, sounds good how many days are you in uni during a week?
yeah it will be a big jump college to uni
am at Ayr college just now which isnt all that great

 

3 days a week, not even full days. It's not a lot really, more self studying than college. Yeah it's harder but if you keep on top of it you'll be fine.

Ah, good old Sanquhar - nice wee place that!

I have a contact still working with the IT dept at the NHS, and when I last spoke to them, they said that they havent sorted interviews yet - That was about 2 weeks ago. You may be still in with a chance, I'll need to find out if interviews have been organised yet!

I think Carlisle may be abit far for you. Sanquhar to Dumfries is about 45 mins, and then Dumfries to Carlisle would be another 30 mins. Depends how keen you are though, you would be driving for about an hour etc?!

IT jobs in Dumfries are pretty rare like. Only really see jobs with the council and NHS. I'll keep my eyes open though!
