can anyone let me know where are the best places to search for 2nd line IT Jobs and IT Tech jobs on the net?

I don't seem to be having much joy, it could just be that there are no jobs in leicester right now or it could be me... hmmm

I have a fair few years experience and due to take my A+ in just over a week, arghhh scary

    Thanks guys

    CWJobs
    Reed
    Jobsite
    IT Job Board
    Jobserve
    Total Jobs
    Monst...actually nevermind
    Gumtree

Granted I havent actually secured an IT Job from these places (no commercial experience) they have been good for getting me jobs in general.

It might be worth your time to check the careers section for the following companies:

    CapGemini
    Capita
    Logica CMG
    Fujitsu
    IBM
    BT
    Serco ITNET
    Atos

Hopefully you'll have more luck than me.

Also with a few years experience in the industry the A+ should be a cake walk for you.

    Oro,

Thanks for the advice, I am already signed up with cwjobs, reed, jobsite, it job board, and check gumtree every now and again.

I had signed up to Monster but realised it's still as rubbish as it's ever been so will be deleting my job alert from that soon. I also signed up to Hays IT Agency which may be a good one for you guys.

The A+ vs real life IT is quite different, many things match up but informaiton on voltages on ram modules for example never comes up in real life.

CWJobs is my main haunt when looking, most of the jobs around end up on there (although a few end up on jobserve and not cwjobs).

Out of the 4 IT jobs I've had, the last 3 were from CWJobs and have the offer for my 5th on the way also from a CWJobs ad ;)

Currently working for one of those, and have a job offer on the way from another, both from CWJobs. Have also been in contact with 2 others on that list as a result of them finding my CV on, yup you guessed it CWJobs :)

Get a decent CV on there and re-upload it frequently as it sticks it back up the list that recruiters see, I think they have some view that's sorted by date.

For a pretty general support type role you're probably going to have to be the one doing the chasing/applying rather than them coming to you. Get some specialisms under your belt however and depending on the area you'll have them calling in no time :)
