i've known this for a while its one of the reasons why i don't use social networking sites.

Why not just use them responsibly?
I don't imagine many of my employers so far will of googled me, or checked me out on facebook, but if they had they would find I'm just as devoted to the evangelism of technology there as I am at work, so it might actually go in my favour in the long run

 

imo i think they're sad, everyone i want to talk to i'm talking to so theres no reason or me to use it.

What exactly are you using to google? Email addresses? Just curious

 

Well, for starters... your name, e-mail address, and mailing address. From that, I can sometimes get forum or social networking aliases. There's all sorts of information you can dig up by starting with just a few bits of data.

 

OK I would volunteer to be a guinea pig here, I am sure there is nothing online that would prejudice against me in a job application , however maybe there's something that would be that I have not thought of.
